After doing a little research it seems the 260 was available in 1963 and the 289 in 1964 so now I'm curious as to what motor mount it used, I haven't found that yet..

My Custom had a 302/AOD when I bought it. The front motor mount brackets on the cross member were fabricated and the rear crossmember was fabricated as well. I changed it out for an FE/Toploader. I had to source a cut out front crossmember and a rear crossmember as well. The drive shaft fit without modification!!!!! The car also had a 6 cylinder radiator (2 pass) and the 302 ran hot, besides the inlet hose was on the wrong side. A standard V8 radiator is 3 pass and the upper inlet is on the passenger side would be necessary for south Louisiana. the 302 did have a set of simple headers. The trans was connected to a manual shift column....no indicator/park detent/lockout.
