Anyone know what size the drain plug is in the bottom of the axle?  Mine is missing and I want to try and source one locally.

Thanks

Didn't actually take mine out but looks like 1/2 NPT with a 3/8 drive ratchet to remove.

Thanks everyone, now sorted, turns out NPT is the same as British Standard Pipe thread, local engineering place sorted it for me.

No, no no ! Gary, Caution!!! listen to the other Gary!
the diameters of pipe threads are the same, but the number of threads in an inch is different. you would spoil your housing if you hammered a British pipe plug into an American bung.
I have been wrenching on both American and British iron ( MGs, Triumphs, Norton, BSA).
fe an American 3/8 pipe plug has 19 threads while the British has 18 ( just talking from my memory, could be the other way around).
That said, many British companies used Unified (US) threads in the 1960s and 1970s as well, so watch out for what you get !
