Where can I buy one?? Totally cool. Brings back memories of our childhood slide viewers.
I can do this, I can do this, I, well, maybe

I thought it was cool too! I had never seen one before. I guess only the rich people could afford them, we were lucky to have gas money...

Never saw anything like that .    Nice to see it in a post war Ford.  Most likely something like that would have cost  real crazy money like upwards of $20.   that would have been out of my league.
I was in the same boat of guys looking for gas money also even when it was 11 cents a gallon at the cheap gas stations.  The expensive gas stations were getting 14 cents a gallon.

Thanks Jay. In high school four of us would all chip in a quarter and buy a $1 worth of gas. We couldn't go far enough to get lost  :003: so no GPS needed. I have never seen one even at the swap meets..

You would need about 10 discs just for Los Angeles county alone. I had one of those as a kid, no city streets though,  just dinosaurs. Neat piece.

Not "back in the day".

A little tidbit of info that many folks might not be aware of.  The GPS system is military, was designed for military use, provided a "benny" for the civilian population, but is fully capable of denying use to civilians through encryption.
