I am adapting a different air cleaner set up on my 428.. Can anyone who runs a tri-power  and runs a stick Oval Air cleaner set up..give me a quick n dirty measurement as indicated on the photos provided...... roughly about a 1/2 around the punched air vents?
I do not have a stocker available to take a measure....I will most likely make a tin version and weld it to the bottom of what I am using.
thanks.

Sorry Jeff I no longer have one to measure. Off topic but I wish I had bought some of these FE parts when prices were reasonable. I was probably make $1.75 an hour at that time so they were still out of reach for me :003:

Yes Jim.... I plan to use a 59-62 Big old Air cleaner ....i don't want the oval one...I just don't have the engine in my possession at the moment and was asking the question to make sure I have the room to perform surgery on the dinner plate Air cleaner.
I believe I do have room..... but I am not spending 200 bucks on something i will never use only to grab a measure from.

Jeff I was more concerned about the lack of the oil fill/breather tube in the intake manifold, it looks like it is plugged with a freeze plug? There should be a hole in the rear of the manifold for a road draft tube also.

Jeff, you should be able to make a large factory air cleaner housing work. A year ago, at a local car show, a guy from Richmond BC had a nice 59 Ranchero  with a 428 FE and factory 2x4 induction on it. At first glance, you would not notice the dual 4 barrels, as he had modified a large 352 style stock air cleaner to work with the 2x4s. I never got any photos, or seen the air cleaner removed, but it looked very cool.

This may be a stupid question but why can't you measure the carburetors for what you need???? What am I missing?
