A little while ago I made mention of a gentleman named Larry Grillett that sold me my Texas 57 Ford.Larry had a massive collection of generally Ford stuff... 3 warehouses of drivers,a personal wrecking yard,memorabilia,etc,etc,.... Larry passed a few months back and his wife is putting a lot up for auction.....
Not sure of the date...but it is in the fall.I may swing down to go check out the auction and see friends.
Anyhow.... here are some pics of some of the parts cars...... they may be the odd Mopar in the bunch(hey!... nobody perfect!)
When I hear of the proper date..I will post.

Larry was a good man.

I'll be going to Larry's Auction.

Lots of '55&'56 Fords.  The most crownvics I've ever seen in one place.   Not a lot of '57's in comparison as he preferred the mid fifty fords.

Yep, Childress. About 200+ miles north of your relatives that live in Fort Worth(?), John. About 110 miles south of Amarillo on 287.
Keep in mind the pics Jeff posted I believe are of his outside "personal salvage yard". I understand there are at least 3 buildings worth of inside stuff.

Thanks Rich.........good memory...........my son and his family live in Ft.Worth.If you need a great defense attorney, he is the guy. Hope you never need his services! Hoping to see you at the auction in the fall.

Good for Bob. Any word on when the auction is yet? I've got a friend who is into '56's and is anxiously awaiting word. (One of my few friends with big$$)

The Larry Grillet auction (Childress, Tx)date is set. It's in Hemmings events list. October 13 and 14 if I remember. 5 Star auctioneers, Plainview Texas is the auctioneer putting it on. Go to their website for  some (poor) pics of a portion of the auction. Each day is a different location in Childress. There's a '56 Canadian Crown vic (not sure what the Canadian model is called) project car, and that tan and white Parklane wagon rumored to be a 98 point car IS included.

That Canadian 56 Crown Victoria is a Meteor, one of only 206 Meteor Crown Victorias built that year. Funny, I know a guy up here that has the identical 3 tone paint scheme 56 Meteor Crown Vic, has owned it for at least 35 years.
1959 Meteor 2 door sedan , 428 Cobra Jet 4 speed. Been drag racing Fords (mostly FEs) 47 years and counting.
Previous 50s Fords include 57 Custom 4 door, 2 57 Ford Sedan Deliveries, 59  Country Sedan, and as a 9 year old, fell in love with the family 58 2 door Ranch Wagon.

When I posted the above link to the auction site, I didn't realize it was starting on pic #195!!!!!!!! This auction is huge. When you go to the above link, click on "back to the auction" button, and you can start from pic #1. about #75 is '57 Fords. I don't see how they're gonna do this auction in 2 days. Yes, lots of Mopars, but SOOOOO many I'd love to have, and the mercs., and that '66 Fairlane 2dr with the unreadable motor size emblem (390, 427??) As Pat said...I've never seen so many CV's in one place. Look at the pallets of parts photos!!.E code parts??
LOL..not a Mustang or Camaro in the bunch, Yeah!!
