Had a great time talking to the owners of these beautiful cars. Don't you just love that Meteor wagon?  Man that thing was nice.

Guess I got there too late yesterday, Randy, yours was the only 57 Ford still there. That red & white wagon looks familiar, FE & 4 speed? If so it used to have aluminum slots mags on it. I guess one of the white cars was Terry Friesens, who owns the other white one? And congrats for running 11.50s on street tites on your 57!

The owner of the wagon had bought it back in around 1967-68, drove it for a while then kind of abandoned it down a bank in a river, pulled it out 10 years later then restored it. Pretty sure he made the right choice, how many of these Meteor wagons were built in the first place? Yes it was an FE.

Yes, Terry's is in there along with a buddy of his that just picked the other custom. Nice car, 351 Cleveland, auto, came out of Minnesota as I recall.

Also met Mike? with the flat black 57 custom.  He has a big inch Boss 429 he wants to put in the custom for maybe next years old time drags.
That would sure liven things up a bit!

Randy, Mike with the flat black 57 Custom has raced his 57 at Hot Rods Dragweek several times, and has had big inch 460 type power, the Boss 429, and last time, with a SB Ford. He also ows a full tube chassis 57 Custom, with fiberglass and carbon fiber nore, doors, trunk lid. With an iron blocked 460 based engine, and driver, it weighed under 2800 lbs. He also owns a 71 Mustang 429SCJ convertible that has been sitting for many years.
Did you weigh your 57 this weekend? A buddy was pitted near you (Turquosie and white 56 Chev 2 door post), we put it on the scales at the track yesterday afternoon. It has an iron headed 327 SB, Turbo 350, and 9 inch Ford rearend. It is not lightened at all, and with a full gas tankand full exhaust system weighed 3450 lbs (no driver).Seems some of these old, full framed cars are a lot lighter than some people think.

Your buddy with the turquoise 56  took me out in the first round, it is a nice car though. Mine weighs in at 3460 with a 1/4 tank of fuel with full exhaust, only lightening is the radio, clock, heater.

It ran a 11.50 @115 mph in the cooler air Sunday morning, was pretty happy with that.

Next year it would great if we could get 3-4 in that event, and your Meteor should be on the road to by then.

Randy,
I posted more photos under Members Rides.  You did us proud.

Brian's Meteor had a top loader but has been changed to a C6, easier to pull his trailer.
Henry's went to Minneapolis in June and drove his Custom home across the 100 degree Badlands.
