Title: 15" wheels and 3.750 backspacing
Post by: johns2000 on 2008-11-12 17:46
Anyone know what size tire I can get away with on a 15" wheel with 3.750 B/S?

Thanks

Not very big with stock wheel openings. How wide are the wheels?
Lottsa room on the inside, it's the outside that's tight

I was going to try 15x7 in the front and 15x8 in the rear? There doesn't seem to be many choices out there with more B/S, most that I have seen are 4" or less except for some Cragers. What kind of back spacing do you guy's recommend?

Thanks

On the back, I have 15x7 with 4 1/2" BS The tires are 275x60x15 Can't get any more rubber in. Very close but does not rub and it looks GREAT.

Johns2000:

I'm with Shopratwoody, go with the most back spacing you can get.  I have 15 X 8, 5.450" backspaced SS Cragars mounted with B.F. Goodrich P255 60R 15's, they fill up the tire well with about 1" clearance on the inside near the springs and about the same on rolled outer wheel well's.  Picture attached.

I gotta admit that looks real sweet, I was just trying to find something different like the Eagle Alloys 203 but may windup going with the Cragers.
