Not really a huge project but something I should have done years ago. After struggling to either pull or install the engine I broke down and cut the support, welded on a couple flanges. The extra eight inches in front and four inches in height makes a world of difference. I tried to keep it as factory looking as possible, I even used factory rocker cover bolts.

That's thinking outside of the box! Good job.
It will be close on the hood clearance but it should clear. I can always trim the top bolt and lower it some.
