The wiper motor that was in my 60 Ranch wagon now resides in the 57 Ranch wagon that I sold/traded for the 58 Edsel.

The Ranchero now has a single speed, self parking wiper motor out of a 55 Chevy.

I always thought the Chevy Trico electric wiper motor just looked like it belonged on my 57 Sedan Delivery.

It does. FOMOCO used the DELCO motor and it retrofits back.

I did some reconnoitering and CHEV last year for vacuum was 1959.

Does the 61-64 electric motor fit our 57's w/o modifications?

I can`t speak from personal experience, but considering my 59 is quite different from a 57, I doubt it. The 57, and the Tri5 Chevys, have a rectangular piece at the end of the motor shaft that fits into a flanged rectangle on the firewall mounting bracket, that drives the cable drum inside the cowl. On my 59, the motor shaft is longer, it goes thru the mounting plate, and has a bellcrank swedged onto the shaft, that has 2 pins, that the wiper linkage arms slip over, and rotate on.

That's weird, the 60 electric motor bolted up.  In the 60 it is under the dash, activated with the same type cable set up from the dash.  Just had to sleeve down the mounting holes to get a snug fit on the mounting screws.

I will use the vacuum motor I have.  I've cleaned it up and will wait and see once the engine is installed and I have vacuum.  i am struggling with one issue and that is the fit of the pivot arms through the body.  Again because I didn't disassemble it I am also working with a vacuum.  I see lots of diagrams, but I am not happy with the angle of the pivot arm once they come through the sheet metal.  I've cleaned the chrome pieces and believe I have the correct orientation for each side, but it just doesn't seem right.  How are they supposed to fit?

There is an angled oval chrome piece that goes under the pivot....
