Yeah, it's been slow. Even regulars like Jim, Lynn, Bill and Gary haven't been on here much. Neither have you or I for that matter.
Me, just shows every weekend, and trying to get my garage organized, and my backyard cleaned up. It's almost there. I'll be in Medicine Park, OK. this weekend.

As for myself, I've been working on the brakes of my 57.  Sourced rear brakes from a 2002 Grand Marques and have them "trial fit" onto the sedan.  Researched and purchased banjo fittings to install onto the 74  Maverick calipers. I made and installed a new brake line from a "T" near the left side to the right side.  I had to make a bracket to hang the residual valve and finally got the lines fabricated and installed from the hydro boost to valve.  I spent the better part of two and a half weeks on these tasks.

Life does interrupt the "car" thing!  Between doctor appointments for my wife, taking care of the house and "playing" with my sister's MGB (actually building it) time just slips away.  Did make a couple of car shows, local, with the Ranchero.  Nice to be away from the chores of old age living!  Other then that the 56 Crown waits for the B to be finished and taken home to WI.

Actually I have been doing all sorts of small projects on the Custom... I dropped the rear end down by putting in 2" lowering blocks (with a 2 degree pinion angle change). I wired up the new backup lights after buying a reverse light switch/bracket designed for the Hurst shifter. I resolved a couple of rear tire clearance issues caused by lowering blocks. I changed the control scheme of the auxiliary pusher fan (deleted computer control, on with a/c or manual switch). I finally got the steering wheel straightened out after a couple of trial indexes.

Today I am changing the oil and waxing the car for a show tomorrow (about a 130 mile round trip). Been watching SEC football and enjoying 80 degree days for a change. This IS car season around these parts.

I did do a bunch of car shows with the Saleen...but so much needs to be done around here now, that I think my car show visits are done. Skipped last weekend and this...doubt I'll go next either. Winter is coming, fall is here, and rain should be soon as well.
I hope to have the winter to myself to work on the cars. Have done some favors for a body shop friend involving long distance trips with the car trailer, and in exchange he is going to paint the SVO for me. Will hopefully have that ready by end of November for the paint.
I now have enough room in the shop to work on both Fairlane and SVO, just need to do as Rich...organize...then I can get to it.
Sounds like everyone else has been moving along the same lines.

Well I got back in from my work/ vacation trip and have been hitting the 57 Hartop, to get some interior stuff done, then had a hiccup on a broken shifter selector arm, had to drop the pan about 3 times. then I learned about valve bodies! haha. Its all working know, just sorting out interior and wiring clean up on the dash, no good pics yet.

I also been working on a new Fuel sender for the 57 wagon, I doing a mish-mash of a car sender with a new arm. we will see how it works, the aftermarket sender took a dive.

Mopar show show this weekend with my Wife, she is driving the '33 out. Its a cool little show. We also took the Morris minor out for Cruise night a few days ago. That was fun.

A few pics of the Ruidoso, NM car show I did a few weeks ago. The first pic is about 1/3 of the show. Mine is almost dead center of the pic, next to the f100. '57 Fairlane next to the hotel/casino near mine.
My favorite car in the entire show of mostly trailer queens was, are you ready??..........................................a VW! I'm gonna post pics for Gunter.

Those Ghias were cool then..still are today! The guy who is going to paint the SVO has one in the shop for restoration now. I think it is supposed to be orange, but I think I like that blue better! Nice looker!
Big show! Found your car too!   :006:

Wish I could have gone to the Mopar show and sat off to one side and watch people drool over the '33!
And the Morris...ah yes...those are such cool cars!

You have got to love the Connecticut shore, in the last 13 weekends it has rained 10, the last time I had my car out was in May.

Rain is coming to visit my neck of the woods in MO next week...probably Wednesday and Thursday. Need to get that lean-to up! Anyone wanna come help? There is steak involved! LOL!!!

That green Ghia is really pretty, Rich ! From what I can see in the pics it looks extremely detailed and well in concourse condition. I think it is a 1960 or 61 model year.

I took my 57CS on a short but sad trip yesterday. My friend of 25 years, Walter passed away from cancer and I attended the funeral with the 57. My 57 was parked right in front of the mortuary in his honor.

He was an extremely talented body worker and restoration pro and he had built a great business with and for his 3 sons, all young car guys as well.
I first got in touch with him, when my first 57 Sedan Delivery had a small fender bender and a mutual friend introduced me to him and he did the repair. That was back in 1998.

I guess life goes on....

On a brighter note, and to get away from it all for a bit, I will take my 95 Fiesta Daily on 500 mile round trip to Southern Germany today, visiting friends.
I will make a short stop at a classic car exposition and auction in Salzburg (just looking).

Yup!  That's how the 56 Crown Vic came home........that was after I decided to thin the herd down to just the 36 and the late models!
