Dang Bill, you, me, and Potter may have to take a road trip. I sure would love to look at that many 57's in one place.

1957Ford.com has some really great pictures of the guys place.

I always dreamed of having rows of '57's!   To bad it is so far away.  I too would love to see it in person.

That would be a road trip Glen!  That town is just a bit due north of the middle of the state!

148 AND BULLET HOLES..............you're killin' me

I think that belonged to a guy named Colby, there are many pics on John Gambils 57 ford site. He started selling on ebay a couple years ago, folks would ask questions, he was very gruff, not helpfull at all. Hopefully he changed his tune a bit or has someone helping him. Don't want to see that collection going to the crusher.  Mark

I saw that last night too.  Does anyone know if he is parting out any of those?  It seems like such a waste to leave them all sitting out in a field like that rusting away.

I'v  known about these cars for 36 years or so, His place is west of Gettesburg So. dak. on a hill just east of the river. When I lived in So Dak I had a large Indian lease across the river from him. He is real close to the Cheyenne Souix reservation, so as these cars played out and wouldn't go any more he was able to pick them up for little of nothing. In fact i think one of my first 57's  is in his yard. A friend of mine said it was anyway. I'v met Colby about 2 maybe 3 times out in Deadwood  at Cool Deadwood nights, A real nice car show in the Black Hills. And yes he does sell parts, I have a friend in Billings that has bought from him.  As  a side note my dad used to say that when a white man thought his car was about wore out, and didn't know if he'd make it to a dealer to trade it off, a indian fellow would buy it and get another 50 thousand miles out of it running used oil.

The bidding on that car got to $850, didn't make reserve. Hard to buy a car online that sits in a field. He had a nice low mileage 55 that got to $15000 and didn't make reserve.  Mark

Maybe I'm being cheap, but $850 for a banged up car missing a lot of parts seems like a god deal for the seller. I wonder what he thinks it's worth?
