I am really weak with carbs. So I need some direction. When I start the car, running real rough, there is fuel coming out the vent tube on top of the carb. It's a holley 1850 600 cfm. My guess is the float is stuck in the down position. Any input as where to start would be great.

What has happened is a little piece of dirt or something is between the needle and seat.   Unscrew the needle and seat assembly, blow out and reinstall at the same height, and you should be back in business.  Sometimes the neddle and seat orings srink up and need replaced and let fuel thru.

Holleys are great carbs, but sensitive to dirt.

The best money you can spend on a Holley is for a really good fuel filter!  They have no tollerance for any knid of dirt!  Make sure you fuel pump has the filter on the bottom...and the filter is in place....and a steel line from it to the carb.  The old rubber line will give you more problems then you can throw a stick at in two days!

I got lucky. I was given a rebuild kit for the carb. I puled the bowl and found the inlet valve stuck open. I cleaned everything real good and replaced the valve with the one in the kit. All is well. Thanks guys.
