Saw this one on Craigslist today. In my 26 year love affair with my '57, this is the first time I have heard of '57 ford front bumper "Wings" What the heck is this? I have not seen this in any literature, or even aftermarket.. I guess we all keep secrets even after 25+ years.
Anyone seen this before, or have some info about it?
The ad reads: "1957 Ford front bumper with RARE "V" cross bar and SUPER RARE front wings. All pieces are original and triple plated (copper, nickle, chrome) fits all 57 Ford models"
And the pictures...
I have seen those in Ford Acc. catalogs, and watch out for the Bumper Boys.Do a google search.
Do you have any pointers to the accessory book you might have spotted these things in?
I know all about the Bumper boyz. I wouldn't' let them touch my car if they paid. They did my grill a loong time ago. didn't hold up, at all.
Yes Dan. In one of the 57 ford LARGE sales brochures I have.
I will take a pic very soon
Dan,
Sorry about the delay.
Is this what you were looking for?

That even shows the hockey stick molding for the rocker panel.. NEAT!!
Yes Jim, it is neat. The illustrated mentions 3 pieces but just shows the centre "wing".
This large catalog is for 300's only. All illustrated and beautiful. It is a Canadian Brochure and mentions the engines you could buy.The super saver 6, right up to the 2x4 T-Bird engine.
Hope that helps in some way Dan.
I should have realized that was for the Canadian models as I have never seen the hockey stick on a US model myself, I need another cup of coffee :003: I guess the three pieces for the grill guard include the two bumper guards to attach it to.
Hockey sticks for mine in the future.
I had a sneaky suspicion Rich was a closet Canadian :003:
Do you mean you've never seen hockey sticks on the Custom series highball? Or not on any model at all? My US Fairlane has hockey sticks (as well as the spotlight mirror shown in the brochure)
LOL No closets about it...I am of Canadian heritage actually...I just live in Texas. But I never could skate, never mind play hockey....that's why they won't let me up there any more.

Cool, I didn't know that. "Closet Canadian" was a name attached to me by others in my railroad hobby..
I had the same bumper on my Ranchero I sold in 92. I'm starting to really hate myself for selling that one. I have seen the wings and the v bar in a catalog somewhere but I can't remember which one. The prices I do remember. The set of wings is $1200.00, and the V bar is $500.00. If anyone knows who it is that sells them , please let me know.
Concours Ford Parts
The "V" Grille guard and wings were sold separately.
The wings were not as popular as the V.
Hockey sticks looked good and covered those rusty rockers well....
They are repoped now too.
Anybody seen the Delta wing exhaust deflectors?
Ron.
Concours has those too. Tried to post the link....no go!
Thanks, I'll look again in my concours catalog.
Just wondering if anyone had seen the repop Deltas.
I have a Nos pair and they are cool looking, just scream 50's rocket tech.
Ron.
