Title: Floor pan interchangability
Post by: terry_208 on 2016-11-04 10:21
The floors in my custom 57 2 door are gone and I am wondering if anyone knows how close of a fit 59 floors are.  I see some after market companies list floor panels for 57-58 and another lists floor panels for 57-59.  I know of a yard that has a couple 59's and can acquire some parts from them.

Just saw this thread. I don't know about a '59, but I can tell you a '57 Custom 2 dr. oddly enough is the same floorpan as a '58 Fairlane 4 dr. The '58 had an additional 3/4" hole under the B pillars.

All 1959 Sheet metal is different than 57/58.
For those needing floor pans all 57/58 pans from the pinch weld on the firewall to
the seam under the rear seat are the same except for Skyliners & Converts.

Thanks for the replies.  I'll keep looking for the proper floors.  I may have to buy new panels from EMS.

I would go with EMS.  Yes they are much more expensive but the fit on the floor pans, rockers, and quarter patches was dead on.  Metal is heavier then the lessor cost panels.
