Title: Fe 390 pan
Post by: FORDNUT on 2007-03-30 06:01
Has anyone with an FE engine in their 57 had to drop the pan? This 390 I paid too much to have built already has an oil leak at rear of pan. It would appear that if I drop the sway bar and maybe lift the motor a tad, I can slide the pan forward? Not what I wanted to do right now but.... bawl

When I used to drop mine to freshen the bearings I jacked the engine up and used blockes in place of
the mounts to get it high enough. Not fun, but that's the way I did it.

Ron:

Slightly off subject.  But I'd really like to know.  Are you going to come to the 2007 Knott's sow with your Ranchero?  Love to have you there.  We have over thirty (30) 57  owners that have indicated they are signing up.  Hope you can make it.  Roger will probably be there, but not with his Ranchero.  I've arranged to have a 57 Custom Fordor black & white with LAPD decals as one of the special display vehicles and an F-code Ranchero that you will have to check out (it's a clean machine).
