Title: 69 Galaxie Disc Swap?????
Post by: jazz475 on 2015-02-02 19:16
Can anyone out there save me some time?? I just picked up a complete set of spindles and brakes off of a 69 Galaxie to swap over to my 57 Ranchero. Any issues or unforeseen problems I might run in to?

Thanks-
Rick

i'm working on a 2 door hardtop, and i used 70 spindles on it. i found that the tie rod ends were too short to allow proper toe in adjustment, i had heard they were a direct swap, but not for me. i'm going to get 70 tie rod ends for it to correct this problem.

I put on 71 LTD Disks on mine. I had no problems with tie rod ends at all. I ran the stock manual steering parts.

@PepFalcon: Do you have power steering or the manual?

One thing to think about that I didn't, was the hub is bigger in diameter than stock. Kind of limits you with custom wheels.

Very easy swap for me.
