I'm looking to run four wheel disc brakes. I have found an explorer rear end on CL, however the granada spindles seem to be getting scarce. I'm trying to stay in the thrifty nickle piece your brake system together approach online. :googleit:

All of the above will work.  There are probably more, just don't know what they are.

You can get Granada spindles brand new now.   A company out of Austin, TX has them manufactured, actualy better quality than OEM.  They are very affordible, especially for the kit they offer.   Iamflashman has a conection with them.

I prefer the granada style as the mid 70's t-birds, mercs, and fords have a wider stance.   Granada type is a much better fit.

remember on the granada spindles you need to ream the lower ball jount hole to make it fit a 57 ford

so I should just call a local machine shop after I have the spindle and also I should replace the ball joints with new ones and just have them attach them?

Here is the guy in Austin http://www.discbrakeswap.com/. CSRP

I just called him and he was telling me he doesn't specialize in our cars despite the web page description. He said 75-80 Granada is the key spindle option and ream out the spindle for the ball joint. Maybe he thought a custom 300 was a truck? Either way the hunt is still on. I'm looking to save as much moolah as possible.

if you can find spindles from a lincoln versailles, the ball joint hole is larger and does not need to be reemed to fit a 57

Custom300Madman

@Canadian: is that the application that acts up when you drop them with Aerostar springs to lower it?

Speedway sells the ream.  You might need it for the tie rod ends on some applications.
