Title: Gas Gauge
Post by: BBoswell on 2014-12-14 12:06
I'm not sure what has happened to my gas gauge. When I start the car the gas gauge needle goes all the way to the right passing the full mark and stays there no matter how full the tank is. When I kill the engine it goes back to empty. The gauge has been funtioning fine. The sending unit and gas tank are less than 6 month old. Any suggestions?

That usually happens when the CVR goes bad. If you have a stock temp gauge it will also read all the way hot if it is the CVR....

Another possibility is your wire from the sending unit is grounding somewhere..

CVR= Constant Voltage Regulator: Located on the back of the dash panel and supplies a lower voltage for the gas and temp gauge.......
