Title: Cragar 390C Street Pro rims with knock-offs and Nitto tires
Post by: 57AGIN on 2017-07-08 15:47
Guys:

As I mentioned in my post on my thread on General Discussion I'm thinking of going from my 15" Cragar S/S rime to another Cragar rim, 7" wide front & 8" wide rear, to the Cragar 390C Street Pro rim in a 17" size. still 7" wide front & 8" wide rear.  Going to the 17" rims gives me more disc brake options.  I've been assured that the Nitto Motivo 17" tires still have plenty of sidewall, because I really don't like the rubber band thin sidewall tires on classics or restomods. I've also been told that the Nitto Motivo tires have the same profile, width and diameter as the BFG's I currently run on my S/S rims.  Any additional info out there would be much appreciated.

Bob, just multiply the width of the tire (in millimeters) you plan to use by .000394. Take that number and multiply by the aspect ratio and that will give you the height of the side wall in inches.

For example   225/60R 17 inch tire ....   225 x .000394 x 60=  5.3"

I posted this in the other thread...

One thing to consider is that if you keep the same side wall dimension you are adding 2" in diameter of the wheel tire combo by going to 17" wheels over 15" ones

Did you get that combination on the car?
I was going to get that style in 15 inch but they are not in stock.
Let me know.
Thanks

 FiveSevenLiter:

No not yet.  About the time I decided to place the order I found out that Cragar moved from California to Ohio and they hadn't gotten their production line up and running yet.
