Title: Radiator fan shroud
Post by: Limey57 on 2017-03-27 14:51
Some cars I see have one fitted, some not.  Are they needed and were they fitted when new?  I have a reconditioned standard radiator cooling a 302 with a pulley mounted fan.

Thanks

I don`t know if factory A/C equipped cars were different, but I have never seen a factory installed fan shroud on any 1957 thru 59 Ford car.

Nope, just a fan.

I had a 57 302 Ranchero years ago without a shroud and it never ever got hot, but I do live in the pacific northwest, which has about the same climate as England. I never pulled a trailer at all, just a couple dirt bikes in back and it was fine.

I had a Falcon Ranchero with Maverick 302 running gear for years.  I ran it without even a fan blade all over the country, only put the blade on one time when pulling a trailer in AZ. at 100 plus.
