this has been posted before,  buti can';t find it, .    yesterday & today while driving the 57 around,  i stopped and a couple of people came up and the first thing they said was,  wow,  the clock works,   ok,  last year i did a quick fix and put in a battery quartz movement,  and its not a big problem,  changing the battery,  but i would like to get a 12v quart done,   so idon't have to change it again,  anyone remember who, where or what where i can get it done?,  thanks   jerry

About the only thing that goes bad on 57 clocks is the points.
Dad cleaned and set mine about 45 yrs ago and it still works fine.
Goodluck,
Ron.

Yup...done a few myself.  Points get dirty or stuck shut, most of the clock works is bullet proof.

Is it possible to get a procedure of how one would clean the points on said clocks? I have two that dont function correctly.

I have used 600 wet/dry sand paper (dry) then just plain paper to polish after sanding the "tarnish" off.  This is very tedious, mind numbing work....but it will fill an afternoon when nothing else meets your fancy.  The clock in the wife's 65 Bird is still running after two years.

It's been bugging me that mine doesn't work, but if that's all it is I'll give it a go.

If the clock doesn't work anyway, what do you have to lose if you can't fix it?
