Title: 57 fairlane 500 aut.
Post by: zetterberg on 2011-06-06 18:46
I bought a kit to convert from power brakes to frt disc. Have everything installed but don,t get enough travel from the brake pedal to to push brake fluid thru the master cylinder. I have been told to remove the power assist under the dash and put in a manual brake pedal.  I have also been told this should not be required. I need help. :canada:

Check the length of the push rod.  With the pedal all the way up there should be just a RCH of clearance, then check the push rod in the master cylinder for the same thing.  Also ask the supplier if the kit was for a power brake car or a manual brake car.  It looks like the pedal assembly has a shorter stroke then the manual assembly.

The kit was for a manual brake car.
