Title: No spark, 1996 mercury mystique V6
Post by: terry_208 on 2018-11-29 18:39
I changed the valve cover gaskets on this car.  It ran before I tore it apart, now it won't start. I used my old inductive timing light, pick-up clips over ignition wire,  but get no light. Anyone have an idea where to look?

I do have the plug attached to the coil pack and the ground that runs through the component attached to the coil hold down bolt.

I found a solution to no spark. I took it into a small shop about 1 mile from my house. They found a connection that was bad. It took them less than an hour to diagnose and repair. Strange that the connection would fail at the same time I changed out the valve cover gaskets. Being color blind, I don't do wiring other than plug and unplug.
