Title: ABS 587 PS Vs. ABS 567 PS
Post by: Bubba on 2010-05-21 08:08
Guys:
I've seen several posts here on the virtues of the ABS 567 PS box.
When I spoke to the folks at ABS they suggested the 587 steering box kit for my 57 63A.
Can anyone tell me what the difference is between the 567 and the 587?
They list the 567 as a Chevy box.

I think 587 is correct. That's what ABS lists for our conversion. I used the 587 box and it drives very nice with their Saginaw pump. It's level of power assist makes the steering a little too light with not much in the way of feed back. But it sure beat's the heck out of the worn out sloppy original. I'm going to change to the power steering idler arm and center link which should add some level of feed back.
