Question: Would anyone know if there is a difference on the 1957 Ford Retractable keyed door locks compaired to the 57 Ford Fairlane or for that matter 58 Retractables? If so what would be the difference?
Thank you for your time.

I have been switching parts and pieces from the 57, 58 and 59 door locks for years and everything fits, even the little tumblers and springs inside the locks.
The outside stainless on the retractable door  is different if I remember correctly.      .

It is, it has a "flipper" on it as the stainless from the top of the fin to the door runs right through the lock (on 57s).

The little cast piece that fits in the end of the lock and reaches over to the latch are different lengths on some cars. If your's ends up just a tad too short, post here...there is an easy fix for that.
I believe that piece on the country squire wagons is  longer to compensate for the fact the lock actually mounts on the "wood" trim, not the door skin.
I can do this, I can do this, I, well, maybe

Retracs use a larger chromed pot metal flip lid.
