Are the drum brake shoes and all the hardware the same from front and rear?

The general answer I think would be no.  Some small parts might interchange.  The front shoes are usually wider, the rear hardware has provision for the emergency brake connection, front wheel cylinders are larger than the rears, etc.

I need the crossbar link. I had an unfortunate mishap with one of the thread in axle bolts backed out and bent, grudged it up pretty good. It could be straightened, but I'd rather replace it.
I have a bunch of brake parts in the attic I saved. Now I'm glad I did.

At least your looking for a part that fits both the right and left sides, so you double your odds of finding it.

Yes, you could straighten, dress up with a grinder and reuse.  It is not right or left specific.  It is somewhat universal with drum diameter...most 11 drums would work without considering drum width.  Since it is not a normal wear item, I usually keep one or two in my miscellaneous brake parts box.
