Title: Leaf Springs
Post by: 4banger on 2011-04-05 07:42
How many leaf springs are in a original spring ?  My second leaf is as long as the main leaf , right up to the eye bolt on each end. Someone might have added it.

Your second leaf is correct. The HD springs (police, taxi, etc) had 7 leafs the regular cars had 5.

The Failane 500 has 4, my Ranchero has 6.....need to get under the Retractable to count them but I think 4 also.

My cars had 5 but were built in the east, Someville, MA and Marwar, NJ. Years ago I bought the springs off and old police car from NY it had 7, the data plate was missing and the frame number was not readable.
