Title: Tires

Can anybody recommend a good whitewall radial tire for the original 14" Fairlane wheel.

Talking about tires, oil or transmission fluid can always start a long debate.  I have a set of American Classic radials from Coker.  They are EXPENSIVE and are not as good as a pure radial, but I like the fact that they look like a bias ply tire and still are still radials.  So far, I am happy with everything but the cost!

Mine are Goodrich clones from Cooker.  Yes expensive.  There probably aren't many available with the correct wide whites.  I thought of Vogue, nice looking but narrow white and gold and only in limited sizes.

That raises another question: What is the correct whitewall width?

mschambe - and anyone else interested:
I do not have any opinion on what Tire I would recommend but I do have a reference for the original white wall width.
For a Firestone Deluxe Champion 8.00x14 tire the white wall width measures 2 3/8 inches.
