Title: Y block valley pan.
Post by: Ecode70D on 2019-12-14 16:22
If someone has a Y block valley pan that accepts a PCV valve and has the baffle on the underside, would you please post a picture of it. I need to make a baffle and spot weld it under a valley pan that I have.   Also need to know how deep it is.
Thank you in advance for your help.   Jay

wow that was quick !
if you need any further info, don't hesitate to contact me. I have that valley pan accessible in one of the Y block part crates.
Jay, you want to read the postings that Jim linked. there is some good info there about the ss mesh that goes in the tray under the PCV valve.

Jay, are you planning to do this to your E code cover?

     Jim
Thank you very much.  I got a lot of information from that link that you sent and will be putting something like a scuffy pad inside it.  That's a good idea.  You are right. there was a link at one time with a picture of what I think I'm talking about.
No I'm not altering my E code valley cover.  Actually You gave me the idea about having a spare Y block ready to go. That's what what I would like to do when I get a suitable one.  At the moment  do have a spare engine , but I honestly and truly do not want to use it because it is a 239 ? from a 54 that got updated.  There appear to be no internal parts avalable for them if needed.
( He is using a bigger Ford engine, not one of those strange things that are commonly used. So I give that young man lots of credit. )
I already have some parts for the spare Y block that I don't have yet.

HA HA, we will give you a little more time to think about it. I have very little knowledge of Austria like you and G. I just know enough to be dangerous  :003:

you are correct, Jay, PEZ is short f?r Pfefferminzzuckerl. a flavor that hasn't been available for decades over here unfortunately. the company was founded in Austria in the 1920s. I am really surprised that Jim knows about the connection to my country.
PEZ is mabye better known for their dispensers which are a huge success among kids and collectors. they are little plastic magazines (about the size of a cigarette lighter) that hold a dozen or so candies, and they have different figures on top. like Mickey Mouse aso. when you pull back that figure head, a candy is pushed (shot) out of the magazine. That's what Jim was referring to..... :003:

I always wanted to modify one so it would shoot further  :003: I've seen huge collection and some original made in Austria bring high $$$
I new a lady school teacher from Austria and asked what was Austria famous for, she told me art, music and PEZ and that just stuck in my memory..

I always had the same feeling (sickness  ).  Seems like everything I touched, I had to take apart and improve it.

That was always a problem for me in school, my mind was somewhere else thinking about things to modify.
