General Discussion / Re: Looking for Custom 300 ori...

Thanks, I've been dealing with SMS for this. Got their samples, picked out the materials I wanted and ended up ordering what I'd need to redo the seats.
I decided to have the seats stitched up locally though, rather than waiting for SMS to do it. A few years ago I ordered door panels from them and at the time they said it would be a 6-month wait. That ended up being 2 years. Not willing to wait that long for seat covers.
They would not share their patterns though, which makes things a little tougher. That's why I'm looking for pics of original seats. The seats I have were recovered many years ago by the last owner, and look to have been done using the original pattern but not the original materials. I'm just trying to give my upholstery shop as much info as possible to remove any doubts about how these should go together.

Let me see if I can sort this out for everyone.  The two piece caps that were mentioned above, were not the turbine but the 1955-56 simulated wire wheel caps.  They used the poverty caps (red center in 55, white center in 56) then there was a simulated wire wheel cap that was held on with spring clips.  They were an option on the Thunderbird or passenger car.  They are also for the 15" wheels used prior to 1957.

The Turbine wheel cover was the cap you would received stock on your 1957 Thunderbird if you ordered it with full wheel covers.  The star burst cap was the cap you would have on your 1957 Ford passenger car is your ordered it with full wheel covers.  The turbine was available for the 1957 passenger models as an over the counter purchase.

SMS Auto Upholstery will send samples for free.  They are very slow in getting the items to you once you buy, but for many patterns, they are the only game in town.

Thanks Lynn. Those are helpful. There are definitely easier ways to redo the interior, but the rest of the car has a very original look and I want to carry that through with the interior.
I also managed to dig up a couple of pics online from auction sites of a couple of cars that still had original style interiors. The worst part is most search engines these days are geared toward separating you from your money, instead of just presenting you with the information you're looking for.
Hopefully this will give my upholsterer enough info to go on.

The mod found it and reposted it.  I do t think he is the seller.  But in a way might be vouching for it.
