Title: spindle/spring/shock combination
Post by: 57squire on 2010-09-14 00:54
I am a newbie with regard to 57's.   I have a 57 wagon with a 302.  I just purchased some granada spindles, and I'm considering using aerostar springs (as the current springs are worn and I wouldn't mind if the front end sat a little lower altogether).  Can anyone confirm that the front end geometry is retained (in principle) with this combination?  Can anybody recommend a set of shocks to be used with this combinations of springs and spindles?
Thanks for your help.

That's a good question. I have 73 or so Torino spindles w/cut
coils and the stock shocks seem to work. Should be very similar.
The spindles lower it some also. I cut 1 1/2 coils yrs ago before
the change of spindles. You proly wouldn't like the lack of  suspension :003:You gotta be real careful with this set up. I'm
used to low cars after 50 yrs with them. You can always measure
the length it should be and then spilt the diff. I feel the Geo. is close enough.
