Yea...and I am not doing it. The thing is down below the engine under the exhaust manifold (which has to be removed). Not interested. Took it to a shop that said they can fix it. We'll see...took 3 shops to find one that would touch the car. Said they might be able to get after it tomorrow. (Tuesday) We will find out.
(I suspect there may be more damage...even with a jump-box couldn't get it to turn over. I suspect he may have also friend the motor when it got hot.)

2010 Impreza WRX. Not sure he wants to mess with a new engine. For the amount of money that would cost he can get another car. Bob has a Pontiac in premium shape that he would sell hum for $3200. But I'll tell him.

Engine World in California. Guaranteed to be under 50k miles for import engines. After you order, they pull the engine from their huge warehouses, clean it, and do a video taped compression check which is emailed to you for viewing and for your approval to release for shipping. Wouldn't hurt to check prices, but you're right.is a 13 year old car worth the labor? My Subi has 180ish k miles, still runs great, but if I ever needed an engine, I'd check with them first.
Shipping to Texas was under 400.

Engine is junk. Passed on the info on the shop in CA. He has already called and left a request for a call-back. We'll see.

Well...my son is getting his first away from the building, away from town vacation in over 2 years! So...when he get here in about 30 minutes, we are leaving for Warsaw MO...near Lake Truman. We are going to go fishing for a few days and see if we can have some fun and fill the freezer as well.
Since I KNOW we will catch fish...I'll post pics!

Ugly hot yesterday. No boats available for a decent price to rent. We are changing tactics today. Maybe more luck. Wish us well!
