Title: Borg-Warner 4-speed
Post by: KidKourier on 2008-04-16 23:54
Guys,  Need help identifying I believe is a Borg-Warner 4-speed,seems to have close 1st to 2nd, a little farther to 3rd-which I can drive around town in ,and then 4th around 45 mph. Side case # D7D8-7006 or 7008-A-A and there's a tag(passenger side) Stamped  UG-BP-----GH26--- D7DR-AA-1837, on tailshaft # D7D8-7A_ _ (these 2 are Blurred) O-AA. On bottem of tailshaft looks like a dorsel fin with 3 evenly spaced holes though it! Is this the standard B/W 4-speed offered in "57", if so, does anybody know the gear ratios? SKIP

Ford did not offer a 4 speed untill 1962, there were dealer instaled 4 speeds offered in 1961. A 64 Fairlane, and 63/64 V8 Falcon 4 speeds are a bolt in item for Y-Blocks.
