I may have been told wrong . I am building a 400 Ford for my 2dr. Custom with all the goodies and I have a 64 Toploader 4 speed to put behind it. Well here is the problem I was told the transmission would bolt to the 400 Bellhousing since I have found a bellhouing the bolt pattern is wrong. Would anybody know if there is more than one bolt pattern for a 400 429 460 Bellhousing. Keep those FORDS running

don't know if this will help ya alot , but this i do know, the 429 and 460 truck bellhousings had a different tranny hole pattern and a larger trany pilot hole then the car bellhousings do to a biggger truck style tranny, if the bolt hole patterns is the only thing wrong, pilot hole is ok and depth is ok, i'd just transfer punch and redrill and tap 4 new holes in the bellhousing.
