Any updates, Bill?

None, been dealing with my wife's shoulder surgery.  She has been in a sling for the past six weeks (out of it now) so taking care of the stuff a one armed person can't has been my life.  We are on the road to recovery, looks like it will be as good as new after P.T. is completed.  As time would have it we are now getting ready for our annual Christmas trip to the "Frozen Tundra" which means I will be in a "techno" blackout until after Christmas day.  We stay at her brother's place, he does not have cable or any kind of service outside of his landline.....

Glad to hear she's on the road to recovery............joint surgery anywhere must be tough. I forgot her name..Karen? Tell her I said Hi.

I've had several shoulder surgeries from various accidents.  The orthopedic surgeons say that shoulder is the toughest recovery compared to other joints due to all of the connections and moving parts.  The PT is as important as the surgery itself to get things back to normal, so encourage her to stick with the regime and it should be good as new in a few months.

It is Karen.  Thank you for the thoughts. Glad when the OK is given for her to drive again.  I now know how professional shofers feel!

So,  how are Karen and the '56 coming along?

Rich we are still having medical issues.  Lots of time spent at Dr. offices.  "Free" (I use that term loosely) time is spent finishing the MGB (my sisters).  Changing an 87 into a hybrid mixture of pre 67.  Big thing is the dash and getting rid of the Lucas (Prince of Darkness) wiring.  Hope to have it wrapped up by years end.  Trying to find help with yard work, can't believe kids today don't want to make good money?

So having said that, the Vic is covered, resting nicely, waiting to be moved into the shop.  Still way up in the air as to which direction to go.  Initial thought was to do the brakes, steering and a couple of floor pan patches and drive it.  Now I'm getting the gradious idea of sub frame, lowered and a Coyote/6speed.  Repaint in the current black/white/black but with pearl in both.....ah, the dreams!  In the meantime I will continue to help out here as I can.

I did sell the Ranchero to my good friend and former ship mate.  He made the run from Birmingham to Mobile at 80 MPH.  Loves the car!  Said he got close to 18MPG, not too bad for a stock 351C/AOD/3.56.

Sorry about the medical issues. Some of that going on here too.
Finding help for yardwork isn't too hard........lots of guys out there, but all at crazy prices! A local tree guy talked my wife into doing some trimming last week, 1150., and he was done in less than 5 hours, and left a mess. URG!!!!!

I know about the "tree guy" thing.  Had a yard guy come in, told her that the maple in the front yard was going to fall down because it was rotten and infected with "beetles", would only be $1500 to get rid of it.  I said NO.  Did some shopping because she insisted it come down.  Guy and his crew can, took down a SOLID maple for $750.

Yard workers are hard to come by here, not sure why.  I want to mow, just want tree trimming, bush trimming and Crape Myrtles cut in the spring and weed whacking....

Back to cars.....spent the day getting plates renewed on the dailies.  Ran into the perfect "State Welfare Employee", provided the true definition of a two toed sloth!  Just renewing, no exotic transaction, took almost 45 minutes (only one ahead of me in line) to get in and back out with the new plates.  AL issues new Armed Forces Retired plates every five years and proof of status must be provided in person.  Other wise I spend the $2 per plate to do it on line!

and I've rambled on mindlessly.......

I had to renew my annual registration on my Outback a few weeks ago. I was in and out in 7 minutes!

It is all on line here. The '57 has a permanent tag that doesn't need renewal. I guess there  are advantages to living in a "third world country"after all!
