Title: Help with Y-block auto transmisiion Kick Down Rod
Post by: fomocochoptop on 2008-06-02 09:45
I am working with a 292 Y-block -B 4bbl. intake with Holley 4bll Carburator. It is missing somw parts for the Kick down swing assembly.  Wanted to see if anyone can post photos of a similar set-up so i can get this car going. or any ideas of how to get trans kickdown to work correctly i was thinking maybe a loker kickdown cable set-up could possible work. any ideas?
Thank you

I would try to get a used stock one. It's a bell crank that bolts to the intake with a piece
of linkage to the carb and the rod to the trans and the link from the throttle on the
firewall. I went through this with a car that was changed to a stick and I changed
it back. Hope someone has a picture for you. Call Steve in 29 Palms. He might have
what you need. 310-631-0053

Like Ron said stock is best, ePay has them every so often. The best place to to see how to adjust is page 2-89 of the 57 Ford shop manual.
