Hi I'm a newbie here. Nice site with a ton of great info. Well I have a question about my wagon tank. I have to drop in to fix a shock mount. When I look at the bottom front, it has a hole in it. Is that a heat shield drain or....a hole in the tank where some port has broken off? I haven't put gas in the car since I bought it...haven't driven it either. Any help is appreciated.

Its a drain hole in case water gets between the spare tire well and the top of the tank. Rancheros use the same tank and the spare tire well from the wagon is under the ranchero bed floor, which isn't used since the spare for a ranchero is behind the seat, a common place to rust out from water getting in through the bed floor.

Thanks for the reply. I got under there in the daylight and could see what you had described. Thanks again!
