What are best valve stem seals for 57 292? Where to locate them?

The best valve stem seals would be the positive stop style either nylon or viton which would require the heads to be machined. There is probably something
out there that would work if you knew your valve and guide diameters. The only other style I'm aware of are the umbrella rubber ones.

Y Block Fords have a barely adequate supply to the rockers  stem seals should be a non issue unless guides are badly worn.  If not umbrellas should be adequate, otherwise its time to replace the guides and valves.

Thanks for the info. Do not want to do complete head work. Just trying to cut down on the smoke and oil consumption.
