Title: Ballast resistor
Post by: Gregs57 on 2023-06-27 08:02
Morning all. Can anyone tell me the correct resistance for my ballast resistor. 57 272 with Pertronics conversion. The porcelain is cracked and one terminal is loose. Thanks

Greg;  I may be mistaken but as i remember you don't use the resistor with the Petronics. I do however think I have a couple of correct resistors if needed.  Tom.

I installed a pertronix kit in my 56 T-bird 312, I also replaced the ballast resistor with a generic one from the local parts store it is 1.4 ohm been running fine for about 4 years now.

You need the ballast resistor if using an original coil. If you use the Pertronix coil it has an internal resistor.
