Will these fit on the rear with a plain 6 inch rim ?

I would certainly think so. If the back spacing is right.

Back space for the 6 inch rim is 3.75. If I go to a 7 inch rim it's 4.25. I know for 225's will fit and there the same height as my bias ply's.

I'm running the 225's on 7" TT II's with 4 1/4 backspacing but have removed inner fender lip, still leaves over an 1" of clearance between tire sidewall and fender on my Courier. KID

I tried the spare from the wife's explorer, LT235 75 15 and it fits but gets a little tight. Plenty of room on the upper fender lip but about 3/4 of an inch on the front part. The rims have about 5 inches of back spacing. Also the tire is about 28 1/2" tall. Man doe's that ever fill the wheel well up.
