     Sounds to me like one of you two guys is an Indian giver.  Haven't figured out which one yet.

On a serious note... the diagram Donnie posted looked identical to parts i had for a truck assembly on a 55 Ford Custom line i had a few years back.I really thought the Trunk Lock assemblies were nearly all the same(or pretty much) from 55-59.....
I see know this may not be correct.

Okay so my trunk is finished and it works! I like the plain look. Is that look normal from Ford or is there more trim pieces? The real question is....how many types of trunk locks are there?

  I think that there are just two types.  The one that you have that should be on a Fairlane and the one like on my Custom.  I will concede that the Fairlane one has a clean look to it though.
