Title: Passing of an Icon
Post by: Ford Blue blood on 2021-02-17 16:59
Most have heard by now that Rush Limbaugh passed this morning due to complications of lung cancer.  Sad day for conservatives.  Sad day for the nation.  The originator of talk radio and a fantastic educator.  He took "legalese" and "legislatorese" and broke it down for the rest of us to understand.  His in-depth preparation and research for every show was admirable!  What I admired most was he would admit when he was wrong (almost never) and give amends to the ones he wronged.

Might not know this, he was a car nut.  He has/had a collection of vintage vehicles, Jay Leno even looked at his stuff and talked about it on his show.  A man of many interest.  He never forgot where he came from, never forgot humble beginnings and was able to relate to us "fly over" folks.  A strong believer that you as an individual could go anywhere and do anything with hard work.  His first job was shining shoes in a barber shop in Cape Gerardo, MO.

Well said, it was a sad day. He was on air only a week before.
