Title: 57 Original (worm gear) steering box lube
Post by: chapingo17 on 2018-04-04 21:00
I recently rebuild the original steering box. I read a couple of articles many mention running molykote and 90W. I believe Ford originally ran a heavy oil. Just wondering what everyone else is using as lube.

Worm and sector types use oil ( 57 Ford ). 1958 and later recirculating ball types use grease.

The correct lubricant type will be identified in the appropriate model year OWNERS and/or SHOP MANUAL.
