Yesterday, we had a picture perfect sunny Southern California day for the All Ford Picnic in Anaheim (about 3 miles North of Disneyland). 57's were well represented, with 6 of us showing among a field of slightly over 100 cars. Most of the cars showing were pre-fifties, as the show is sponsored by an Early Fords club. We were grouped by the club putting on the show into a variety of classes, Best Ford 52-59 (which was won by a 53 Mercury), Best 52-59 Ford Street Rod (won by Ken Wogoman's Customized 57 Ranchero, Best Crown Victoria/Skyliner (won by Bill Sawyer's 57 Skyliner), and Best Fairlane/Torino (Won by Club Member Rick Crawford's Custom 300).
While the show was a good one, the grouping of classes and judging left something to be desired. The judges thought that a Custom 300, having the Fairlane trim package make it a Fairlane (boy were the two Torino owners upset) or that a customized Ranchero didn't somehow belong in the Ranchero class. Nevertheless, we did all have a good time.
The 57's showing were:
Ken Wogoman's Customized very yellow Ranchero
Bill Sawyer's red/white Skyliner
Rick Crawfords Blue Custom 300
Phil & Linda Meyers light blue Custom
Gary & Arlynn's turquoise/white 4-door Custom 300
Bob Lee's turquoise/white Custom 300

Here are a couple of more pictures taken at the All Ford Picnic last Sunday. We all met at a local Carls Jr. & lined up to go in together. We all felt that coming in together was best, as we could park together. It always seems to have more impact than just a single 57 parked randomly.
