Title: What is the Appearance difference, between a '57 Ford and a '59 Edsel clock?
Post by: KYBlueOval on 2017-04-06 04:29
I'm talking with a fella that is parting out a '59 Edsel here in Kentucky, but 100 miles away, that has a working clock for sale.
I've got two questions:
1) What is the difference in the face of these two clocks? I do not have a '57 clock, so I have no reference.
2) Will the '59 Edsel clock go right into the '57 bezel and dash location, or must it be modified?
Thanks
John

Looks only to be hash marks on the face.

I just got a 59 Edsel clock a few weeks ago. the housing, lighting and clock interchange a 100% with the 57 Ford clock.
The 57 Ford clock has a black faceplate. the Edsel has a metallic anodized gunmetal color. I am not sure whether Jeff's pic doesn't show that or not that well.
to somebody not aware of the difference, they never would find out probably. I plan to paint mine flat black and highlight the hours in white. never mind about the minute marks.
