The 56 Mark II was shipped in a special carrier. The cars were bagged in fleece-lined sacks that were suppose to protect them

When I was fourteen years old, I was amazed at how unintelligent my father was. By the time I turned twenty-one, I was astounded at how much he had learned in the last seven years!

Wouldn't you like to have one of those "bags" today? They would make a nice car cover. Thanks for the pic. Another unique one!

Was there an Elvis Presley movie with a Daytona coupe in it? I seem to remember a women stuck in a ditch with one, and the king happens along of coarse to help her out and later watch me sing in a club. Maybe Spin out?

Not a Daytona. It was CSX 3012...a Shelby Cobra. He was run off the road, off a bridge actually, by Shelly Fabre (sp) and the car he was driving was the Cobra.

Don't think I have ever seen that movie. I'll have to search it out.

This is one of the six Daytonas built; after CSX2601 was featured in Red Line 7000 in 1965, it was purchased by its driver Bob Bondurant, who later sold it in 1969. The car sold for $7.25 million on August 15, 2009, and it is currently owned by Perez Companc family from Argentina

Here is Bob with CSX2601
