When I was fourteen years old, I was amazed at how unintelligent my father was. By the time I turned twenty-one, I was astounded at how much he had learned in the last seven years!

Hey so now you wise guys get around in your 57 and 39s, and I am stuck here outlawed with my 34.
I have a feeling coming, I am going to drive it anyways.....whatcha think Jay, does that mean I am a juvenile delinquent ?

     G. That would mean that  I  wouldn't be allowed drive my old 34 Ford also.

Don't worry about being a juvenile delinquent.  It only means that you are still young and having fun.  So that makes it a good thing.

I remember those old lifts with the safety flip-ups on the ramps to keep cars from rolling off when up in the air. Don't exist today in this age of OSHA which is kind of funny in a way.

Yeah, I remember when they used to be outside, along side the station. I also remember when they were pneumatic/hydraulic and the control was on a stand made from pipe with a lever you would flip back and forth to raise and lower the lift. It also had a safety lock that nobody used.
A friend of mine had his car at a body shop being repaired (a Corvette) and they were tight on space so they put a car on the lift and parked his vette underneath. Well come friday, they close down and someone shut off the compressor.....I guess you can figure what happened next.

The gas station we hung out after school had one of those outdoor, drive-on hoists.  PIC:  Hoist is just behind the Galaxie.

Those were the days when mechanics were tough as nails...working outside on a car in the cold and wet! UGH!

True enough...although...the first two generations of 'Vettes were nice. After that...not so much.

With all due respect to the fact that the car was a was a Cor@#%$%e.   That had to be very painful for the owner.
