I have a 292 Y-Block engine was rebuild not to long ago it has 4,000 miles on it. I have an issue with spark plug #8 once in a while it will darken spark plug (indication of too much fuel) I check the rest of the spark plugs and they are all normal. Compression is the same on all cylinders. Has anyone run into this problem any advise would be great. Thanks in advance.

If the engine is running ok except for the fuel wetting you could try one range hotter plug in that cyl.

ie; from BF82 to BF92.

Good luck,

Ron.

Right on, I was also thinking on checking my valve lash (not ticking at the moment) I will check compression again. For the moment I swapped spark plugs see if it travels to another.

Could be a bad plug or plug wire also..
