Title: '57 Power steering reservoir filter...
Post by: RAWms on 2007-04-18 21:39
...you know the one submersed in the reservoir tank.  A Motorcraft one is $60 and a "...its supposed to work OK..." is $30.   Man, the one I have looks OK to me NOW!  I was just changing it because.   The filter is important though as I took mine out as a "go by" to the stores.  Happened to fire off the car to move it and  fluid was every where.    bawl   The filter acts as a disperser in the reservoir.   Won't do that again.

If any body has a replacement part number I would like to know it.   I would then change it "...because I think I'm supposed too."

Roger,

My 62 Bird had one, just washed it with gas, let dry and re-installed.  Ran it for 15K before I sold the car with no problems.  I did drop a magnet in the resevoir too.
