...you know the one submersed in the reservoir tank. A Motorcraft one is $60 and a "...its supposed to work OK..." is $30. Man, the one I have looks OK to me NOW! I was just changing it because. The filter is important though as I took mine out as a "go by" to the stores. Happened to fire off the car to move it and fluid was every where. bawl The filter acts as a disperser in the reservoir. Won't do that again.
If any body has a replacement part number I would like to know it. I would then change it "...because I think I'm supposed too."

My 62 Bird had one, just washed it with gas, let dry and re-installed. Ran it for 15K before I sold the car with no problems. I did drop a magnet in the resevoir too.
