Quite an impressive e.t. for a 4,100 lbs. car and only 352 cubes.

I am just fascinated with Ford factory performance... no matter what era Jim..(Well not present) but historical stuff.Ford shunned and shed away from it, much more than the others.

Me too :003:. That right up was done really well and I enjoy all the tech specs they included. I sure miss those days and I'm down to minimum old parts. Still have my 427 solid lifter cam in my 390 and a couple of the dual point distributors on the shelf that I just look at to bring back memories.

The red car was owned by a friend Nick Smith at the time of the Hot Rod article.  It has since been sold but Nick still owns these, both 352-360 cars.  My father built both of their engines.  Both have gone low 13s with period correct motors.

I always loved the 60's too.
Jeff, the Ranchero is stock 292 powered. The 66 pickup is a 390 with 427 factory cam, 428 CJ heads, headers, Holley etc. It's a real sleeper  :003:. I had one of the single 4V factory aluminum manifolds like the one in the 60 article for years until the exhaust cross over burned through  :005:

I do remember that now Jim. you showed a pic a while back of your tri-power engine on a lift..I just couldn't remember what powered your Ranch,... Thanks!
I too just picked up a intake like the one in the article... the bottom exhaust crossover is in good shape..... I want to build a engine similar to that one in the article.
